The floating tents project is one of the most innovative, where tourists can enjoy a stay with rooms at the top of the mountains.
“Floating Retreat” is the name of this program that, as its name suggests, offers the experience of a “floating retreat” in the sky of the Persian Gulf, in the middle of Sharjah. There, guests will not only experience adrenaline but also the comforts of a true luxury hotel.
Floating Tents Among Mountains, An Experience Above The Clouds Of The Emirates
These true floating tents are actual capsules suspended at a distance of 328 feet below the platform during calm wind conditions. Those who choose to enjoy this experience will not only spend a day suspended at heights, but the place offers a mountain spa with top treatments, a restaurant, and guided tours of the area.
Arrival to these hanging capsules is via an elevator where each guest has access to their tents with comfort for two people. These rooms offer the customer the possibility to control the suspension level with special controls that also allow measuring the proximity of one to another. The prototype model includes bathrooms on the platforms and 10 individual floating tents.

To enhance the experience, the company Ardh Architects created a transparent structure for these rooms so the user feels literally in the air, creating a unique adrenaline sensation in a destination where only a few neighbors exist.
Although offered as a unique attraction, this stay may provoke a sense of insecurity among visitors, so there is a detailed security service trained to address any security issue, including fire risks, stuck capsules, or strong winds. These tents are equipped with double suspended cables, and in case a tent gets stuck, the cables will allow the capsule to swing towards the mountainside, where the mountaineering team can safely retrieve the guests.
