Bringing the moon to earth is another of the most ambitious projects for investors in Dubai. In this city, having the moon within reach is possible, in a place where skyscrapers and constructions are part of the most exotic architecture.
Although it is not yet available, in 2027 the most emblematic city of the United Arab Emirates will feature a new architectural achievement: The Moon, a hotel shaped like the moon that promises to offer a unique experience.
How the Moon will be in Dubai, the city’s most ambitious project
The original project is called Moon World Resorts and aims to have a structure similar to the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, but with larger dimensions. The project’s co-founder, Canadian entrepreneur Michael R. Henderson, intends for guests to feel as if they are stepping onto the lunar surface, so the entire construction will attempt to recreate that experience.
With this goal in mind, the company plans to not only build one, but several hotels that meticulously simulate the lunar surface in all its 360 degrees, complete with craters. Dubai will be the first location for this experience, but there are plans for this building to also be constructed in North America, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.
“Reaching the Moon, the dream that can come true in Dubai”
As is obvious for a type of project like this, the measures of Moon World Resorts are monumental. Although it is not yet confirmed, this Moon could reach a height of about 224 meters and a total circumference of more than 600 meters. This space is not only designed for rest but also for multiple activities. Therefore, it is said that the project includes the construction of five-star restaurants, a spa center, meeting rooms, and spaces for conventions.
This plan by Canadian entrepreneur Michael R. Henderson was influenced by the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, which gave him the idea to pursue this dream. “The Moon of Las Vegas” has a height of 112 meters and a width of 157 meters and is currently the largest spherical structure in the world. Its bowl-shaped theater contains the highest resolution immersive LED screen in the world. Its exterior is equipped with more than a million LED screens.
