Dubai is betting on a new development that moves away from traditional skyscrapers and offers an alternative proposal for those who love a healthy lifestyle. Dubai has announced the creation of the world’s tallest wellness complex, which, as expected, will feature top-notch infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and distinctive touches that will elevate the city to another level.
The project, named Therme Dubai, was officially announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, who confirmed through official communication channels that this plan “will be an iconic addition to Dubai’s skyline.” This building will be constructed in Zabeel Park, one of the largest in the emirate, and is scheduled for completion in 2028.
Relaxation and fun: this is what Therme Dubai will be like
The wellness culture is what Dubai aims to promote at a time when sustainable constructions and healthy lifestyle campaigns are essential for modern communities. For this reason, the arrival of a building of this nature is so important in the United Arab Emirates, where the goal is to follow Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
This project has an initial investment of 2 billion dirhams and is expected to attract 1.7 million visitors per year. The goal of this site is to draw tourists but also to provide residents with the best wellness facilities in the city. The venue will be divided into different zones that will follow three main themes: “Restore,” “Relax,” and “Play.”
The three essential pillars of wellness in Dubai
Therme Dubai will embrace the philosophy of wellness and quality of life, offering guests the best treatments and options for a luxurious stay. The building will stand at 100 meters tall, making it the tallest of its kind in the world. Additionally, the zones will be divided into distinct concepts that provide users with various relaxation and treatment options. As mentioned before, the areas will be grouped into “Restore,” “Relax,” and “Play.”
The first zone includes a thermal sector with saunas, steam baths, and mineral treatment baths dedicated to rejuvenation. The relaxation area is exclusively for adults and will feature indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, as well as mineral pools with natural treatments. The “Play” section is designed for children and young people, offering options for all tastes and age groups.
A sustainable alternative in Dubai
Although constructions of this type may be questioned by environmentalists, Dubai’s plan to create sustainable buildings continues to move forward. In this context, the construction system of this site will feature a mechanism that recycles 90 percent of the water, while 80 percent of the cooling systems will use clean energy. Under this strategy, an indoor botanical park will also be built here, the only one of its kind in the world.
Additionally, Therme Dubai will have natural therapeutic spaces with treatments inspired by ancient global traditions such as Roman and Turkish baths, Japanese hot springs, Turkish hammams, and Nordic saunas. It will also feature a large indoor pool with a 4,500-square-meter terrace and an interactive park designed for the whole family. As the project authorities announced, this complex “reflects our commitment to enhancing urban biodiversity and environmental sustainability while creating enriching experiences for Dubai’s residents and visitors.”
