The Burj Khalifa is currently considered the tallest tower in the world and was created by Mohammed Al Maktoum, who wanted to build this building to break all world records. The Burj Khalifa, which precisely means “caliph’s tower”, is a symbol of opulence and growth in Dubai, a true standard of modern construction.
However, new technologies and developments and investments that take place in any city in the United Arab Emirates have been surpassing each other over time, and many buildings have been constructed around it. However, no one had been able to surpass this 828-meter emblem, until now. The Burj Azizi will be put to the test in Dubai and will impose itself on the planet as the tallest tower in the world.
What the tower that wants to dethrone the Burj Khalifa will be like
Like any construction project in Dubai, the Burj Azizi promises to break records. This construction will have 132 floors, reaching a height of 725 meters. Although its height will not surpass that of the Burj Khalifa, this site will feature other highlights such as the hotel lobby, nightclub, observation deck, the world’s highest restaurant and the world’s highest hotel room.
This work will be completed in 2028 and will have an investment of 6,000 million AED by the architectural consultancy AE7. This space is designed to form a true vertical shopping center, which will have everything necessary to form a place of this style, where a seven-star hotel, residences, penthouses, apartments, and vacation homes will be built; wellness centers, pools, saunas, cinemas, gyms, mini-markets, resident lounges and a children’s play area.
Just like the Burj Khalifa: an adventure in the Dubai sky
The developers of the Burj Azizi project confirmed that the challenge is precisely to form this shopping center in the heights in a reduced space. Therefore, the makers of this massive work described the way they will approach the project. “The challenge consists of optimizing the tower’s core, which houses elevators, exit stairs, and machine rooms and acts as the structural backbone of the building. A larger core means sacrificing valuable real estate space, so it’s essential to ensure that each component is precisely sized,” said developers Erik Hokanson, Matthew Fineout, and Moosa Swaidan to local media.
One of the main concerns of the experts is that this entirely vertical tower will face winds and gravitational loads. This site will be built on the land that Azizi Developments bought in 2017, so its foundations are secure thanks to a previous construction. “We are building the tower mainly on a 57m x 57m base; considering its height, this is one of the narrowest proportions in the world,” said its developers.
No one will be able to surpass the Burj Khalifa
The presentation of the Burj Azizi project shook the supremacy of the Burj Khalifa, which stands as the emblem of Dubai and the entire United Arab Emirates. Its history marks a milestone in the culture of these territories and is one of the highest in the world that, not even with Azizi under construction, can be dethroned.
This tower has an impeccable design similar to a flower and features various amenities, including high-end hotels and more details that make it unique. The prodigious building houses the Armani hotel and 144 residences of the Italian brand between floors 9 and 16, as well as luxury apartments, offices, four pools, several spas and gyms, and event rooms.
