Dubai continues adding buildings to its already exorbitant skyline, and now they have announced the arrival of a new structure that will break all molds. In Dubai, a pyramid will be built that, just like the Egyptian ones, will mark a before and after for the emirate. This magnificent building, called Ziggurat, will be 1,200 meters tall and will cover more than 2 square kilometers.
This pyramid will also have two unique features that will make it a new record-breaking building in the city: it will have the capacity to house more than one million people and its own transportation system. If Dubai was missing anything, it was a construction like this, and companies have already set their sights on it and its significant investment opportunity.
A promise to fulfill in Dubai
The Ziggurat pyramid is one of the most anticipated in the city and also one of the most disruptive. Its construction was announced several years ago, but the 2008 economic crisis prevented its creation. Nevertheless, Ziggurat is one of the achievable dreams within this enclave, and its details astonish even the most skeptical.
The company in charge of this design is called Timelinks, which is made up of an interdisciplinary group of urban planners, scientists, and architectural designers who conceived this building under the strictest sustainability standards. Therefore, it was planned that the lighting and all the installations at this site would be powered by renewable energy, using solar and wind systems.
Its own transportation system and more surprising details in Dubai’s pyramid
Ziggurat also features other technological systems that will mark a before and after in Dubai. According to what has been revealed, this site will have its own transportation system that will move horizontally and vertically, aiming to avoid large car congestions. In other words, the pyramid will be a true city within a city, which will also have shopping centers, restaurants, and essential shops for its residents.
This enormous building will have 300 floors where, in addition to featuring a unique transportation system, it will include parks, green spaces, ideal for family recreation. All of them will comply with the rules imposed by the authorities of the United Arab Emirates to ensure the construction of eco-friendly buildings, aiming to prevent an increase in carbon emissions.
Towards a sustainable “mini-city” in the heart of Dubai
The authorities of Timelinks, the company in charge of the Ziggurat Pyramid, emphasized the qualities of this true sustainable community. As confirmed by its executives, this site will use steam energy for its construction process, as well as wind turbines to harness energy resources. The intention of this project is to include entire cities within it, with green spaces and other areas and facial recognition as a security method for its inhabitants.
Dubai will not be the only destination where a project of this kind will be built. In Saudi Arabia, the construction of a genuine city in the middle of the desert called The Line, a skyscraper that aims to house more than nine million people, has also been envisioned and is set to officially open in 2030. It will feature a structure approximately 170 kilometers long and about 200 meters wide. A true rarity for the sandy landscape of Saudi Arabia.
