Abu Dhabi cannot ignore new trends, and economic diversification goes beyond real estate. Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE have the possibility of becoming the capital of Artificial Intelligence, which is why they have outlined a plan that will place them at the forefront worldwide.
This is known as The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, driven by the Abu Dhabi Government Enablement Department (General Directorate of Education), which aims to improve government management through AI. This project requires an investment of more than 13 billion dirhams and aims to enhance governance capabilities over the next two years.
The objectives of Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy has a clear goal, which is to generate an efficient infrastructure to aid government management. One of its functions is to make the sovereign cloud 100 percent digital to automate all governmental processes. Additionally, it is expected to develop a unified enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.
The goals in this process are clear and aim to achieve greater development in government activities. For this reason, the authorities considered it necessary to implement 200 AI solutions for all its services, turning Abu Dhabi into a hub for the development of this type of technology.
AI for all, another key aspect of Abu Dhabi’s project
One of the most interesting points of the Abu Dhabi government’s digital project is the “AI for All” program, where citizens will be able to explore all the possibilities and tools provided by AI. This is a new empowerment tool for residents, who will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with its use and gain knowledge. This initiative adds to previous ones promoted by the government, such as the third evolution of the TAMM platform (TAMM 3.0) and the Abu Dhabi Program for an Effortless Customer Experience.
As described by the Abu Dhabi Government Enablement Department (DGE), “the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027 reflects the vision of our leaders to be an AI-native government, seamlessly integrating AI into all governmental systems for a proactive, agile, and fully technology-based future,” they stated.
The path to transformation in Abu Dhabi
The development of this proposal is not only aimed at improving government operations but also at boosting economic growth. The Digital Government Strategy is expected to add more than 24 billion dirhams to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2027 and create more than 5,000 jobs. Achieving this also requires international collaboration and partnerships with other sectors. The Abu Dhabi government is working together with other key entities.
In this context, it has been confirmed that the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence contributes with information and workshops on Artificial Intelligence, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) supports the growth of linguistic models, and G42 collaborates in the development of infrastructure. This strategy is one of many aligning with the capital’s vision for the future and the rest of the Emirates. Through this work, it seeks to improve public services, facilitate government operations, and foster a more sustainable future that benefits all sectors of society and attracts future investors.
