Had to jump on this Tik Tok trend & share one of the most surprising places we visited in 2022. Nurai Island is a little tropical paradise a short speedboat ride from Abu Dhabi. You can stay in beachfront villas at this boutique family-friendly private island resort (there’s a kids club & water park) or you can visit for the day like we did. A day pass includes the 15 min speedboat transfer from Saadiyat & resort credit that can be put towards food and drink (in one of their 5 restaurants), spa treatments or activities such as SUP. We’re planning another visit in 2023.. how about you? #nuraiisland #inabudhabi #visitabudhabi #traveltips #islandparadise #traveldestinations #bestintravel #beautifuldestinations #findyourpace #uae #abudhabi #dubai #travelinspo

Zaya Nurai Island, also known as the Maldives of the Middle East, is considered the ‘most luxurious project in the world’ according to Newsweek. This paradise is privately owned and is divided into seven portions with just over 40 hectares of land. Here you can find the aforementioned 32 luxury villas, where lavish residences reach up to 11 million euros.

These houses have an average area of 1,700 square meters, plus another 4,000 of garden. Their rental price is around 30,000 euros per night, but not all of them are available for this option. In addition to these mansions, you can also find a 5-star hotel and private beach. All the villas have patios, pools, and sea views, a completely exclusive place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so cars are not possible. The island’s residents have to move within it in small electric vehicles via paved paths similar to those of golf courses.

A luxury experience on the secret island of Abu Dhabi

This space offers options to enjoy the best luxury of the United Arab Emirates, as well as spaces for the whole family. Although it is an area of absolute privacy, some tourists have the privilege of accessing these dream enclaves. Among its variations, one can also enjoy a huge pool and beach, as well as restaurants, a terrace, a dock, and a library. There are also larger Water Villas with a minimalist design.

Another favored location within this space is Beach Estates, a private place with six rooms, surrounded by wide grassy canopies, private beaches, and ocean views. The experience here is complete, and in addition to the finest restaurants with the most exquisite cuisine, you can enjoy Nurai Spa, which boasts an impressive outdoor relaxation lounge.

The celebrity refuge island: this is the incredible mansion of King Juan Carlos I

One of the qualities of Zaya Nurai Island is that it is the ideal enclave for those who need to “escape” from problems, just as the emeritus King Juan Carlos I did once his issues with the tax authorities came to light. Here, the monarch was able to take refuge thanks to the help of a renowned sheikh and enjoy the comforts of an incredible space. As published, Juan Carlos I resides in a two-story house with an elevator and direct beach access from the garden, as well as a heated pool that keeps the water cool despite the high local temperatures.

This place has a “domotized” system, so the house is equipped with curtain and window opening and closing systems that remain shut to keep the interior cool. In this enormous residence, the King has a dozen rooms for himself, the staff attending him, and the guests he occasionally receives. Additionally, it features a sauna, jacuzzi, game room, billiards, foosball, cinema room, office, and a medical room.
